Away Days

We would love to host your next corporate away-day! Our facilitators can run zine-making workshops for your team in your own venue, or we can source a venue to suit the needs of your organisation.

We are based in Edinburgh but we host workshops and events all across Scotland.

 

Our corporate away-days are typically 2 hours but can be longer or as short as 1 hour depending on your requirements. Our facilitator fee starts from £200 after VAT which covers a 2-hour workshop.

 

All workshop materials are provided by us. This includes paper, scissors, glue, Sharpies, washi tape, felt pens, coloured pencils, and a large selection of collage materials, but we also encourage participants to bring their own materials if they want to add a more personal touch to their zines!

The structure of the workshop is as follows:

Set-up - if we are hosting the away day in your space, we require access to your own space to set up our equipment and familiarise ourselves with the space at least 30 minutes before the scheduled away day start time.

Introduction - house rules, safer Spaces agreement (also listed on our website), about Coin-Operated Press CIC. We will ask photo permission from all attendees - if they don't want their pictures to be taken/put on social media, that's absolutely fine. We are happy to email you with the photos we take after the away day.

 

Demonstration - we will introduce the materials we have on offer and give a demo of how to fold a Mini-Zine. We provide a Mini-Zine for people to take home with them with printed instructions on how to do this folding technique. 

 

Time to create - most of the away day time is given to attendees to create their Mini-Zine. We like to create a calm, safe, and accessible environment for people to be creative. We can give input and instruction where needed but this can also be a quiet time for people. We may play music during this time if people are happy for that. 

 

Wrap-up - we like to give time for participants to share what they have made, and have space to discuss the creative process. There is no pressure to share if folks are not keen.

 

End of the away day - it takes us a maximum of 30 minutes to pack down and clean up at the end of the workshop.
